Intermittent request failures

Over the last couple of days you may have noticed that Marvelist has been acting quite unreliably, we want to let you know why, what happened, and what we’ve done to rectify the problem.
On Wednesday 5th June, at roughly 6.00pm we started to receive alerts from our monitoring systems indicating Marvelist was experiencing higher than normal request failures, upon receiving these alerts we started immediately investigating the problem.
Our investigations concluded that on Wednesday evening Marvelist received a huge spike in traffic and activity that our infrastructure just could not handle in a timely fashion, this traffic continued into Thursday and much of today (Friday) ultimately causing the app to encounter errors and sync problems meaning you may not have been able to access your Marvelist data and in some instances you may have been logged out of the app and been unable to log back in.
Firstly, we want to apologise for this.
Secondly, we want to assure you that further monitoring has been put in place to catch these sorts of issues before they become major problems. As part of these monitoring upgrades, we have also scaled up our infrastructure to better handle the increased demand on Marvelist.
You should now have noticed relief on the service, and you’re now able to reliably access your data.
